Arranging

Regularly in demand as a music arranger and music producer, Ed frequently writes and records new music arrangements for period dramas and historical films, for both on screen performances and sync. Balancing the often competing needs of historcial authenticity, musical quality, and the practicality of film production is a unique but enjoyable challenge!

Ed's arranging work includes the opera scenes in Netflix's hit period dramas, Bridgerton, and Queen Charlotte, in which he also appeared on screen as conductor of the opera, arrangements (conducting and orchestration) on The Crown, jazz arrangements for See How They Run (Searchlight) and Bonhoeffer (Angel Studios),

Ed's arranging talents were showcased on Decca's 'Bond 25' album, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road, featuring new arrangements of the Bond Theme Songs, and on Ed's concert suite of Martin Phipps' music from The Crown, performed at the Krakow Film Festival.

I sent him the music at the last minute, and he was able to bring out from the score all the nuances I had in my demo"
