Hello! I'm Edward Farmer, I compose music for Film & Television, conduct orchestras, and produce music. My recent projects include original scores for sci-fi feature Beyond Existence dir. Sean Dunn, Shallow for Emmy award-winning William Bridges, In Her Place for bestselling lesbian fiction writer/director Jade Winters, orchestrating and conducting for The Crown (Season 3) [Netflix] The Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance [Netflix], Temple [Sky / Hera Pictures], Noughts & Crosses [BBC], arranging and conducting for Bridgerton [Netflix], with collaborators including Andrew Skeet, Martin Phipps, Benjamin Wallfisch, Matthew Herbert, Daniel Pemberton, Samuel Sim, and Alex Wilson.
I studied for a Masters Degree in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music, and began working life as a conductor, founding the theatrical ensemble London Arts Orchestra (LAO), and working for orchestras inc. London Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Budapest Festival Orchestra. I've written music for the Royal Opera House composer's scheme, West End Theatre, have been nominated for the European Soundtrack Award at the Soundtrack Cologne Festival, and recently gave a TEDx talk on music and familiarity.
I love music, storytelling, and working with great creative people. My studio is based in London, UK, where I combine symphonic landscapes, evocative sound design and contemporary grooves.
